How it all began…
When it comes to hobbies, crocheting is definitely my favorite! It all started back in third grade when my mom took my sister and me on a craft store adventure. As she browsed for more yarn to add to her already impressive collection, as we begged to give crocheting a try. With a hook in hand and our favorite colors picked out, we dove headfirst into the world of yarn and stitches!

Learning Lessons…
Settling in at home, our crochet teacher got down to business. She advised us to start small, with a humble washcloth or pot holder. My heart was beating like a drum – I was thrilled to get crafty! Though, I must admit, the counting of stitches was a bit of a snooze-fest for my 8-year-old self and my little sis, Theresa, who was only 6. Despite our lack of focus, we kept at it all weekend, and I finally finished crocheting the rows. But, alas, my pot holder was a bit wonky – not quite square, more like an hourglass! Thankfully, my mom came to the rescue with her sewing machine and turned my crocheted creation into a miniature dress for my Barbie doll. And that, my friends, was the end of my crocheting career for many years to come.

New Inspiration…
After becoming a parent, my hands begged to be busy with yarn again. I wanted my little ones to experience the cozy magic of crocheted Afghans, just like I did. Thankfully, my mom was there to help me remember the ropes and even showed me some new stitches to add to my arsenal. But, after a bit of trial and error, I knew I needed more crochet intel. That’s when I stumbled upon a book that introduced me to new colors and patterns. Suddenly, my creativity was on fire! I stitched up heaps of blankets before finally attempting to make some cute cardigans. Let’s just say, sizing was a challenge, but I embraced the practice and kept on hookin’!

The more the merrier…
When my granddaughter was born, my creative juices started flowing like a wild river! From baby blankets to trendy clothes to super fun toys, I was on a mission to make her world a wonderland. Her eyes widen with amazement every time I show her the finished products. But then, my life took an exciting turn! I met my soulmate, best friend, and partner in crime. He came with a bonus: two little men that I now call my own. Being a bonus mom to these twin cuties has been a crazy journey, but oh-so-worth it! They are always curious about my projects and keep pushing me to make them something equally cool. It’s a rewarding life, and I feel truly blessed to be part of this big happy family.

Realizing a Dream…
Theresa, my trusty encourager, nudged me to chase my wildest dreams. So, I kept stitching, learning new techniques, and even creating my own patterns! Before we knew it, our Etsy shop was a living, breathing thing. At first, we didn’t know where to start or what to create, but then my niece Chloe hit me with a request: Skull pants! She spotted them on TikTok and wanted me to give it a try. But, alas! No pattern existed at the time. So, I put my thinking cap on and got to work! With each stitch, the squares took shape, and the skulls came to life. It was like magic in every loop!

What’s to come…
I put the finishing touches on my masterpiece and sent it off to my sis. I crossed my fingers and prayed it would be a roaring success. The wait was nerve-wracking, but lo and behold, she called me up while opening the package and the reaction was priceless! The praise kept pouring in, so I decided to pop them on our Etsy shop. And guess what? They flew off the shelves faster than a hot knife through butter!
Now, we’re taking things up a notch and designing Flower Power pants. I’m bouncing off the walls with excitement to see what we come up with. Plus, I might just share some of my patterns with you guys! Let’s see where this adventure takes us. If you’ve got any ideas or requests, don’t be shy, give us a shout!
